Inspection FAQ
- How much does a pre-purchase inspection cost?
- Call us for current terms — pre-purchase inspections are billed at our shop hourly rate.
- Do you come to the seller to inspect the car?
- No. We inspect at our own shop at 1222 Barstow Ave, Clovis, so the car has to come to us. Most private sellers will agree to it if you ask — and if a seller refuses to let the car be inspected, that tells you something on its own.
- What if the car does not run?
- We can tow it in. We work on non-running cars every day, so a car that will not start is not a problem — call us and we will arrange the pickup.
- Will you inspect a car I am buying from another dealer?
- Yes. It makes no difference to us where the car is coming from. You are paying us to tell you the truth about it.
- What do you actually check?
- Engine, transmission and drivetrain, brakes, suspension and steering, frame and body for previous accident repair, fluids, stored and pending OBD-II codes, and a road test. If you want something specific looked at, say so on the form.
- Do the cars on your own lot get inspected?
- Yes, every one of them, before it goes up for sale. Title status is disclosed on the listing and Carfax is available on request.
